KIVI Event: 2nd Friday – Meet Nova: the modular electric car of the future!

April 10, 2015 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Meet Nova: the modular electric car of the future!

On weekdays you take your car to work 20 km from home, and you only need to bring your laptop and lunchbag. You don’t want a big car; you want one that’s easy to park in tiny spaces and cheap to run. You believe that electric cars have the future so you get yourself one. But in the weekend your needs change. On Saturday you take your kids to do your weekly shopping, so you need more space in the back of your car to fit the pram and the groceries. On Sunday you try to squeeze five members of your sports team, including their bags, in your car for a 150 km round trip. Electric cars won’t take you that far, right? What are you going to do, buy three cars?

So we have different needs for our car, depending on our goals at a certain moment in time. But why can’t we adjust our cars to our different needs? This April, Steven Nelemans and … from TU/ecomotive (//link to site) will present their ideas about the future of mobility at 2nd Friday. Last year the TU/ecomotive team created Isa and participated in the Shell Eco- marathon – a marathon for energy efficient cars. This year, they will give us a sneak preview of Nova: the modular electric car of the future.
